Welcome

Reader, welcome to my blog, throughout it you can expect to hear about my wonderful time in my mentorship program. What is Career Mentorship? I would describe it as interning for high schoolers. It'll help us see if the field we choose to mentor under is something we really want to go into. I chose Graphic Design and have the pleasure of working with Visionary Signs. When you read my blog, I hope that you learn about my experience as a mentor to Bethany Snode and the rest of her company.

DAY ONE

Today was my first day at my mentor site, I agreed to arrive at one so I could have enough time to eat my lunch, and go to the office about 30 minutes away. When I arrived I set my things down in Bethany's office. She showed me what today's work was, we were making and printing decals for a fire station from my hometown, Springfield! We looked at the white stripes and crest that would be on the truck. She showed me the printer and began to print onto the reflective adhesives. She also showed me the machine that precisely cut the shapes she needed. AS we worked, Steven another guy who a works with her introduced himself to me. Then Mark, the guy that installs all the decals and signs came to help us peerl the adhesives and laminate everything for this truck. It took four whole hours to make sure everything was printed, laminated, and packaged correctly. It was a lot of fun watching them work, and getting to know everyone. I can't wait to go back!
